Book Review "Memahami Pasar Tenaga Kerja : Bacaan Ekonomi untuk Non Ekonomi"

Morning spirit,

In the midst of current technological advances, literacy sources are becoming more diverse and available online. However, physical books are still a favorite for some people. This time I would like to introduce a book that is quite interesting, especially for data users. Delivered quite lightly but with weighty content, readers of this book are invited to understand employment data from a different perspective. From this book I learned that not all data are wrongly obtained, if we want to think, there are other reasons why data looks like this. These reasons can be phenomena or characteristics of the sample that are quite unique.

For example, Indonesia's unemployment data during the 1997/1998 crisis was far below the predicted figure for many. However, the author of this book presents comparative data from outside BPS that illustrates the changes that have occurred in Indonesian society regarding this aspect of employment which have resulted in the unemployment rate not increasing drastically. The term, Indonesian people do not have "privileges" to be unemployed.
