There is something different with the National Social and Economic Survey (Susenas) this time. In September and October 2021, BPS will hold the Susenas for the Socio-Cultural and Educational Module (MSBP). The questionnaires used in the 2021 Susenas MSBP enumeration were the Socio-Cultural and Educational Module Questionnaire (VSEN21.MSBP) and the Consumption/Expenditure Questionnaire (VSEN21.KP). The 2021 Susenas MSBP questionnaire was prepared with the aim of producing indicators that are in accordance with the RPJMN, the National Balance Sheet, and the SDGs.
The MSBP Susenas field activities were preceded by officer training which was held on September 13-16, 2021. The implementation of the MSBP Susenas, unlike the previous March 2021 Susenas, started with the listing of households in the sample census blocks. After the training, check the households to be visited to ascertain whether the households to be sampled still exist or have moved. This activity is carried out by visiting the head of the local RT who is the task area.
This September 21st was the beginning of the struggle of the MSBP Susenas field officers to collect data. There is a lot of data collected by the MSBP Susenas including demographics; information on the Population Identification Number; information on ownership of clothing, frequency of meals, and sleeping facilities; health and recreation information; media access information; information for toddlers; togetherness statement; description of functional disorders; sports information; information on culture and ownership of savings; school participation; school activities and education costs; social relations; employment information; household socio-cultural information; housing information; social protection certificate; and household income.
In addition to data on culture and education, similar to the March 2021 Susenas, data on the quantity and consumption/expenditure of food, beverages, and last week, information on non-goods contests for the past month and year, information on contest recapitulation, and information on income, receipts, and expenses incurred during the last year.
With so many variables in the MSBP Susenas, it takes tenacity and officers' questions when conducting interviews with respondents. It takes about 2 hours to interview one respondent. Therefore, support and cooperation from various parties, especially the people who were selected as respondents are highly expected. A long journey is still waiting until October 16, 2021. Although it was not easy, the MSBP Susenas officers did not know how to give up. The scorching heat and heavy rain did not become a barrier. (Adn/Social)
