The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Central Java Province recently (13/04/2022) held an online Micro Small Scale Food and Drink Provider Business Survey Officer Training (V-REST UMK) using the Zoom Meeting facility. Participants from the Tegal Regency BPS, which amounted to 10 people consisting of 7 enumerators and 3 supervisors/examiners, participated in the activity.
This training activity was officially opened by the Head of Central Java Province BPS, Ir. Adhi Wiriana, M.Sc. In his directive, it was stated that so far the available data on food and drink providers is very limited, it cannot be used to calculate the GDP of the tourism industry, especially for food and drink providers. Therefore, a Food and Drink Provider Business Survey with a wider scope is needed. It does not only cover the characteristics or business profile of the food and drink provider, but also must be complete with the data and information requirements needed in calculating the added value of the food and drink provider business.
The Micro Small Scale Food and Drink Provider Business Survey (V-REST UMK) aims to obtain information on business data for food and drink providers, which include:
1. General characteristics of food and drink providers, such as seating capacity, number of guests/customers, number of servings sold, number of working days, number of workers, income and business expenses; and
2. The use of basic materials as business raw materials, such as rice, beef/buffalo, chicken meat, eggs, and fresh fish.
The implementation of this survey activity will be divided into 2 (two) stages, namely:
1. Phase 1, Registration of buildings and businesses (VREST22_L) collects data on business of food and drink providers using basic ingredients in a Census Block.
2. Stage 2, Enumeration of samples of UMK businesses by collecting general business information, business income and expenses, and use of basic materials.
This survey will be carried out starting from the 2nd week of April 2022 and ending until May 31, 2022.
It is hoped that with the availability of more complete VREST-UMK data by accommodating food and drink provider businesses that are included in the MSE category, it is hoped that it will be able to describe the population as a whole.(Ali)
