Kedungbanteng, July 30, 2024 — In the
picturesque village of Kedungjati, nestled within the Kedungbanteng
subdistrict, the rice fields are bustling with activity during this year’s
subround harvest season. Diligent field supervisor Sakti Eko and experienced
data collector Galdito closely monitor the paddy fields. Despite the
challenges, most of the rice has already been harvested. Notably, the Ubinan
team successfully completed rice sampling across three plots.
In interviews with several farmers, they expressed their
sentiments: “When harvest results fall short of expectations, income decreases,
potentially affecting family financial stability.” The pressure and anxiety
faced by farmers during less satisfying harvests are real. However, the spirit
of community cooperation and support from fellow farmers can help alleviate
these feelings.
In such situations, it’s crucial for local government and
relevant institutions to monitor and respond wisely. Additional assistance
programs or training may be necessary to help farmers overcome challenges and
improve future yields. After completing the sampling in three plots, the data
should be promptly input into the system and sent to the BPS server, where it
can be combined with data from other subdistricts. This will result in an
estimated overall rice production value for Tegal Regency. (Exo)
