August 1, 2024, Kalisoka Village, Dukuwaru District — The rice sampling supervision team for Subround 2 in 2024 is diligently at work in Kalisoka Village. Leading the team is Supervisor Imam Furqon Roziqin, supported by enumerators Rizki Okta, Jamani, and Sutari.
Rice sampling in Kalisoka presents a unique challenge: the use of automated rice combine harvesters. These machines operate swiftly, and our schedule must be carefully managed to avoid overlapping with the machine’s efficiency. Nevertheless, the sampling results in this area have been quite satisfactory.
Most farmers here harvest their crops using combine harvesters—a sophisticated machine that can cut, hold, thresh, and clean the grains all at once. The combine harvester is operated by a minimum of two people. Its main components include the header unit, which consists of a reel guide and a cutter bar for cutting and directing the rice stalks.
During this occasion, the Ubinan team sampled three rice plots in Kalisoka. After selecting the sampling plots, the areas to be measured for production were carefully chosen using a random method consistent with our sampling approach. Subsequently, the rice was manually cut using sickles and then meticulously weighed to obtain accurate data.(Uonk)
