Monday Reflection: Internalization of Sectoral Statistics at BPS Tegal Regency

May 19, 2025 | Other Activities

On Monday, May 19, 2025, a "Monday Reflection" session was held at the BPS Tegal Regency office, focusing on the internalization of sectoral statistics for all BPS Tegal Regency employees. In his remarks, the Head of BPS Tegal Regency, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji, S.St, M.Si, stated that while the 2025 Sectoral Statistics Implementation Evaluation (EPSS) will not be conducted, the implementation of sectoral statistics remains a core task of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Tegal Regency as Data Supervisor. All BPS Tegal Regency employees are involved in this process, including in the development and strengthening of an integrated statistical system. Led by Senior Expert Statistician, Diana Dwi Susanti, S.St, the session emphasized the importance of internalizing sectoral statistics to improve data quality and ensure that every stage of data compilation by supervised data producers adheres to the One Data principle: Data Standards, Metadata, Interoperability, Reference Codes, and Master Data. Standard Framework in Statistical Business Processes To optimize the Data Supervision function of BPS Tegal Regency, it is necessary to ensure that data producers can generate official statistics. Statistical Business Processes refer to the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM), which includes the following stages: 1. Specify Needs – Identify data needs required by stakeholders. 2. Design – Design the methodology for data collection and processing. 3. Build – Implement statistical systems and infrastructure to support operations. 4. Collect – Collect data from predetermined sources. 5. Process – Process and validate data to ensure accuracy. 6. Analyze – Interpret and analyze data to generate valuable information. 7. Disseminate – Publish and distribute data for use by various parties. 8. Evaluate – Review the effectiveness of the implemented statistical system. Through the application of the GSBPM concept, it is hoped that the quality of sectoral statistics will continue to improve, support data-driven decision-making, and ensure that Tegal Regency has a strong and integrated statistical system, which is expected to be highly beneficial for the implementation of development programs in Tegal Regency.
