Jakarta, 19 January 2026 — Statistics Indonesia (BPS) held the 2026 Distribution Statistics Coordination Activity together with BPS of the Republic of Indonesia as a strategic step to align planning, methodology, and the direction of national distribution statistics development. This coordination activity involved 12 Heads of Distribution Statistics Teams at the central level of BPS RI, each overseeing strategic statistical activities in the areas of distribution, trade, services, and statistical development. This forum serves as an important means to ensure the integration of central and regional statistical activities in 2026. This coordination was attended by the entire BPS Tegal Regency Distribution Statistics Team, led by Heny Khristianawati, Salafuddin, and Martin Muktia. The activity was followed online via the BPS RI Zoom and YouTube channels, in between the ongoing National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) and National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) training activities in the area.
In this activity, each Team Leader presented the 2026 Distribution Statistics activity plan, methodology updates, as well as potential issues and challenges in conducting surveys and censuses. The discussion also emphasized the importance of improving data quality, business process efficiency in statistics, and strengthening central and regional coordination.
The 2026 Distribution Statistics coordination is expected to strengthen the role of distribution statistics in supporting the preparation of strategic indicators such as inflation, trade balance, price indices, and the contribution of the distribution sector to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In addition, the results of this coordination serve as a guideline for BPS work units in the regions to carry out statistical activities in a uniform, accurate, and sustainable manner. Through this activity, BPS is committed to continuously providing quality, relevant, and useful distribution statistical data to support data-based policy making and national economic development.
