Slawi, June 27, 2026 – The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Tegal Regency, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji, conducted a working visit in the form of supervision and oversight of the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census in Balapulang District. This visit aimed to ensure that the enumeration process runs in accordance with standard operating procedures and to directly monitor field conditions in order to address the various challenges faced by the implementation team.
During his visit to the district, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji intensively inquired about the latest progress regarding the achievement of enumeration targets from the Field Enumerators (PPL) and Assistant Field Officers (PML). He emphasized the importance of completing the data as soon as possible, considering that the current number of respondents covered has not yet fully met the targets set in the initial schedule of activities.
One of the main issues highlighted during the meeting was related to technical problems with the application and communication network. Field officers reported that they often experienced difficulties uploading data due to unstable internet signals in several areas of Balapulang District, which hampered the smooth execution of daily reporting.
In response to these application and signal constraints, the Head of BPS Tegal Regency instructed the technical team to immediately identify and record the “dead zones” with poor signal coverage and report them to the service providers or the central IT division for further mitigation. In addition, he advised PML and PPL to make use of idle time to carry out manual data verification or conduct face-to-face coordination with business operators in areas around village offices as a temporary compensatory measure while technical issues remain unresolved.
Through this direct supervision, it is expected that the motivation of field personnel can be boosted and that both technical and non-technical obstacles can be minimized promptly. BPS Tegal Regency is fully committed to supporting all PML and PPL so that the 2026 Economic Census can be completed on time, accurately, and responsibly, in order to produce high-quality regional economic data for the future development of Tegal Regency.
