SLAWI — The Head of the Tegal Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji, conducted direct supervision of the 2026 Economic Census in Jatinegara District on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. This step was taken to ensure that all stages of field data collection were carried out in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs). The presence of BPS leaders in the field also aimed to provide moral support to officers struggling to collect accurate data.
During this supervision activity, the BPS Head was accompanied by the Activity Management Team (PJK), consisting of Adiprima Widi Nugroho and Adibatul Hasanah. The PJK team was tasked with overseeing the monitoring process, identifying potential technical obstacles, and providing direct guidance to officers if data discrepancies were found in the field. This collaboration between leaders and the technical team is crucial to maintaining the validity of the Economic Census data, which is a pillar of national development planning.
Jatinegara District was selected as the first evaluation location in the 2026 Economic Census supervision series at the regency level. This location was selected based on regional characteristics and the diversity of local business sectors, which were deemed to require special attention. This initial evaluation is expected to serve as a reference and strategic improvement for mapping and data collection in subsequent sub-districts.
All Field Inspection Officers (PML) and Field Data Collection Officers (PPL) assigned to Jatinegara District participated and were fully present at the evaluation. The full attendance of these officers allowed for the exchange of experiences related to field dynamics and the realignment of conceptual definitions of census variables to prevent misinterpretation of data.
Through this supervision, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji emphasized the importance of accurate and honest data obtained from business actors. The final results of the 2026 Economic Census will serve as a valuable structural database for the government, particularly in formulating targeted economic policies in Tegal Regency.
