Hero is a title given to those who have fought for the independence of Indonesia. To commemorate the services and struggles of these heroes, a Hero's Day commemoration is held every November 10. The theme of Heroes' Day in 2021 is "My Heroes, My Inspiration".
In commemoration of the 76th Heroes' Day, BPS Tegal Regency held a flag-raising ceremony which was held on the front page of BPS Tegal Regency. This Hero's Day commemoration ceremony was attended by all Tegal Regency BPS employees who carried out WFO as well as apprentices from the STIS Statistics Polytechnic. Even though it is still in the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the ceremony will continue to take place solemnly and without losing its meaning. In carrying out this ceremony, the officers and participants of the ceremony have implemented health protocols.
The reading of the mandate of the Minister of Social Affairs was carried out by the Head of the Tegal Regency BPS as the supervisor of the ceremony. In his address, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini emphasized the importance of the unity and integrity of Indonesia. Tolerance must continue to be developed in the midst of the differences in SARA (Ethnicity, Religion, Race, and Inter-group) that the Indonesian people have. In addition, the spirit, determination, and belief of heroes must be used as inspiration in the struggle against Indonesia's current "enemies" namely poverty and ignorance in the broadest sense. This is in line with the theme of Heroes' Day in 2021, namely "My Heroes, My Inspiration". Furthermore, a moment of silence is held for 60 seconds as a form of respect for the services and sacrifices of the heroes who have defended the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
It is hoped that with the implementation of this ceremony the participants can remember the struggle of the heroes who have sacrificed in fighting for the independence of the Indonesian nation and are able to implement the noble values of heroes in their daily lives. (Dzatu/STIS)
