On Thursday 18 August 2022 at the Tegal Regency Central Bureau of Statistics Jl. Ade Irma Suryani No. 1. Slawi held a Knowledge Sharing about the use of the Adobe Indesign application for the creation of the District in Figures which became the main task of supporting the sub-district according to the Decree of the Head of BPS Tegal Regency. Adobe Indesign is software that is intended to be free and manage the layout of the design in making the District in Figures publication. The resource persons in the event were Imam Furqon Roziqin's Computer Institution and Puji Astuti's First Statistician. The event, which was attended by all BPS employees, especially those who will make the publication, was 18 sub-districts.
In addition to designing KCA publications, this application is also able to create designs intended for print and digital media (e-books, magazines, the homepage of a website, and others).
What are the benefits and advantages of this application? Adobe Indesign can create anything, from making a book for yourself, making posters and brochures for an event, making web page designs too, you know. However, only design and not HTML or other technical aspects.
One of the advantages of Adobe InDesign is that we can create any design layout, for single-page or multiple-page documents. Just like Microsoft Word, there is an option to create columns (if you want to create magazines and such). If the document is made of more than one page, there is an automatic numbering feature. So, all activities in this software are made easy.
In Adobe InDesign, templates and stock graphic assets are also available, there are also stock images from Adobe Stock, a variety of typography to choose from, and other visual assets. Another advantage of Adobe Indesign is that it makes collaboration between designers and projects much easier. Tools that are designed to simplify this creative process. Besides that, being able to share fonts or other assets is even easier and can be done inside.
