Tegal, February 21, 2024 - The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Tegal Regency today met with the Tegal Regency Government to discuss the spike in the Price Development Index (IPH) recorded in the 3rd week of February 2024. The IPH experienced a significant increase of 1.543 compared to the previous week (0.435).
Head of BPS Tegal Regency, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji, said that the IPH data calculated based on the Market Monitoring System and Basic Needs (SP2KP) data showed an increase in prices of several main commodities, such as rice, red chili, and cooking oil.
"The increase in IPH is certainly a serious concern for us," Bambang said during the meeting, which was attended by Pj Regent of Tegal, Agustyarsyah, and Regional Secretary Amir Makhmud. "We want to work together with the Tegal Regency Government to find the best solution to overcome inflation and maintain price stability in the market."
Pj Regent of Tegal, Agustyarsyah, welcomed the coordination conducted by BPS. He expressed his concern over the increase in IPH and emphasized the importance of concrete steps to ease the burden on the community.
"The Tegal Regency Government is ready to synergize with BPS to overcome this problem," Agustyarsyah said. "We will immediately take strategic steps, such as market operations and intensification of price monitoring in the market."
