Tegal, November 1, 2024 — In the handover of the results of the Sectoral Statistics Development Evaluation (EPSS) conducted by the Head of BPS Tegal Regency, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji, to the Acting Regent of Tegal, Agustyarsah, it was revealed that Tegal Regency successfully obtained a Statistics Development Index value of 2.65 with a "Good" predicate. The handover, which took place on October 31, 2024 at the Tegal Regency Government Office, highlighted the importance of sectoral statistics development, improving the quality of sectoral statistics development, and improving the quality of public service in the field of statistics in the Tegal Regency Regional Government. In addition, this meeting also discussed suggestions for improvement and recommendations in sectoral statistics development in the Tegal Regency Government environment.
Encouraging Professionalism and Data Quality
The evaluation results show that Tegal Regency has implemented several aspects of statistics well, including data standards, metadata, interoperability, and reference codes, all of which work within the Domain of the One Indonesia Data Principle. However, the EPSS emphasizes the need for improvement in the Domain of Statistical Business Processes related to aspects of Data Planning, Data Collection, Data Verification, and Data Dissemination.
Recommendations for Technology Utilization and Institutional Strengthening
As one of the steps forward, BPS recommends the use of big data technology to improve the efficiency and transparency of public services and infrastructure planning. The Tegal Regency Government is expected to strengthen its organizational structure and human resources to ensure that statistics management is effective and contributes to improving public services.
Continuous Commitment to Renewal
Meanwhile, on October 30, 2024, the Secretary of the Tegal Regency Government also received the same recommendations, highlighting the urgency of improving statistical business processes, including more regular and transparent data release scheduling, as well as providing appropriate data formats to increase accessibility for users. The Tegal Regency Government is committed to using these evaluation results as a foundation for continuing the development of a statistical system that is not only reliable but also able to meet the challenges of data needs in the future.
Therefore, it is hoped that improvements in the quality and professionalism of statistical data management can provide significant benefits for planning and policy decisions that are more targeted in Tegal Regency. (adn)
