Coordination of Statistics-Aware Villages (Cantik) 2025 in Bukateja and Kaliwungu Villages, Balapulang District

On Friday, February 14, 2025, the Head of BPS Tegal Regency, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji, along with Senior Statistician Diana Dwi Susanti, Junior Statistician Heny Khristianawati, and First Statistician Uziroh, visited Bukateja and Kaliwungu Villages in Balapulang District. This visit was part of the Statistics-Aware Village (Cantik) 2025 program, which aims to raise awareness and understanding among the community about the importance of data and statistics. The arrival of the BPS team was warmly welcomed by the Head of Kaliwungu Village, Akhmad Kusen, and the Secretary of Bukateja Village. During the meeting, various questions were posed to the village officials to determine the main candidates for the Statistics-Aware Village in 2025. Some aspects that were considered include the existence of the village website, an informative village profile, and up-to-date data. BPS Tegal Regency is committed to providing guidance so that both villages can meet the criteria to become Statistics-Aware Villages in 2025. This guidance is expected to help the villages manage and utilize data effectively, as well as increase transparency and community participation in data-driven decision-making. The Statistics-Aware Village program is expected to improve the quality of data and information management at the village level, thus contributing to better and more planned development in Tegal Regency. This visit is the first step in an effort to create villages that are more aware of the importance of statistics and data for collective progress. (uonk)
