Gender-Based Human Development Analysis of Tegal Regency 2023

Human development is a crucial aspect in achieving societal well-being. The Gender Development Index (GDI) and the Gender Empowerment Measure (GEM) are used to monitor gender gaps and women's access to development. GDI reflects the disparity between men and women, while GEM measures their participation in the economy, politics, and decision-making. Both indicators align with the vision of the National Long-Term Development Plan 2005-2025, which aims to create an independent, advanced, just, and prosperous Indonesia. Periodic presentation of GDI and GEM figures by region enables each area to understand the map of gender-based human development, both in terms of achievement, speed, position, and disparities between regions.
