On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Central Statistics Agency of Tegal Regency conducted data collection through the Micro and Small Industry Survey (VIMK) for the year 2024. This survey is carried out periodically every three months on micro and small industrial businesses that serve as samples, with the aim of generating aggregate data at the level of Central Java Province. The survey sample targets industrial center managers representing the dominant types of industries in the region.
Micro and Small Industries (IMK) are part of the manufacturing sector that significantly contributes to job creation. A team of statisticians, including Junior Expert Statistician Ika Efrilia, SE, MM, along with two other industry team members, Adi Prayitno and Hendra Sarwono, conducted field observations to understand quarterly business activities among the selected sample businesses. Consistent data and up-to-date monitoring of economic phenomena are crucial to reflect real economic movements in the region. This poses a challenge in producing accurate figures for the IMK Production Growth Index.
Support from business stakeholders is essential to ensure that government policies are effectively targeted. The better we understand the movements of micro and small industries, the more effective policy measures can be taken to promote sustainable economic growth. (IFrilia) .
