The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Tegal Regency on Monday, May 14, 2024 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a sign of the launching of the Statistics Literacy Corner Goes to School at SMAN 1 Slawi. The MoU is related to the development of statistical literacy for school students, especially students of SMA Negeri 1 Slawi.
The Head of BPS Tegal Regency, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji, S.ST, M.Si expressed his gratitude to the Principal of SMA N 1 Slawi Sunarni, S.Pd, M.Pd for giving BPS the opportunity to conduct more focused statistical coaching to students in order to have further knowledge about statistics and opportunities to improve statistical literacy skills at further education levels.
The declaration of this activity was socialized at the Flag Ceremony in front of all students and teachers so that this activity can be known and maximally utilized by the school. In his speech, Bambang Ponco explained the importance of understanding data, how to produce data so that it becomes clear information and can be a determinant of future policies. This was welcomed by Mrs. Sunarni and synergized with Literacy activities for students carried out on predetermined days, We hope that BPS can provide routine guidance to every class in SMA Negeri 1 Slawi.
Also present in the activity were Diana Dwi Susanti, S.Si as an Associate Expert Statistician and Ika Efrilia, SE, MM always the Head of the Statistics Go to School Working Team with her team members.
