On Friday, August 2, 2024, the Tegal Regency Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) once again conducted a statistical literacy program at SMA N 1 Slawi. The Statistical Literacy Development Program aims to enhance the numeracy skills of students at SMA N 1 Slawi, preparing them for the Computer-Based National Assessment (Asesmen Nasional Berbasis Komputer or ANBK) organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek).
The school appointed Ms. Heti Herawati, S.Pd, as the School Statistics Agent to coordinate with BPS Tegal regarding the implementation of this activity. The statistical literacy training took place in the multipurpose hall, which had been prepared by the school.
Ika Efrillia, SE., MM., as the Head of the “Goes to School” Team, delivered a presentation on economic growth, using language that was easily understood by the students of SMA N 1 Slawi. The numeracy literacy content was presented through simple graphs, aiding the students’ comprehension.
The session concluded with a quiz guided by representatives from the School of Statistics (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Statistik or STIS), Nito Sudinata and Feza Raffa Arnanda. The expected outcome of this activity is to provide students with an understanding of numeracy concepts presented in a literacy context. Hopefully, this initiative will continue to enhance the school’s efforts in promoting numeracy literacy. (MagangSTIS)
