Following the statistical literacy development activities held at SMA N 3 Slawi last week, the Tegal Regency Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) once again organized a statistical literacy development program at SMA N 3 Slawi. The school hopes that through this program, students preparing for the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK) will better understand various contexts related to numeracy literacy in everyday life, enabling them to easily comprehend and answer ANBK questions that resemble these issues.
Farras A Zulmi, S.Pd, and Novi Dwi Ambar, S.Pd, as the School Statistics Agents accompanying the students during the activities, expressed their appreciation for the facilities provided by BPS Tegal to SMA N 3 Slawi, which support the school’s Statistical Literacy Development program.
The material presented in this session focused on the Human Development Index (HDI), prepared by the Cross-Sectoral Analysis Team Goes to School BPS Tegal Regency, led by Masykuri, M.Si. The material was delivered by Faqih Indra Lesmana (an intern from STIS) and covered the concept of measuring quality human development using one of the indices produced by BPS, the Human Development Index (HDI). The presentation was highly interactive and engaging, using analogies that were easily understood by the students of SMA N 3 Slawi.
The session concluded with a quiz conducted using a digital platform, which heightened the students’ enthusiasm in answering the questions. Prizes for the quiz winners added to the excitement among the students. This activity positively impacted the students’ competencies in preparation for the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK). It is hoped that such activities can be held regularly and extensively, thereby enhancing numeracy literacy understanding in other high schools, particularly in Tegal Regency (MagangSTIS)
