Ensuring Data Quality by BPS Tegal Regency in the 2024 IMK Survey

The Annual Micro and Small Industry Survey (IMK) is one of the routine annual surveys conducted by BPS Tegal Regency. Its aim is to identify areas with potential micro and small industries in Tegal Regency, which can be used as a basis for macroeconomic planning. The scope of the Annual IMK Survey includes micro and small-scale industries. Micro-scale industries are those with 1-4 workers, while small-scale industries have 5-19 workers. These industries are commonly known as household industries.

Each survey conducted by BPS follows its own business process based on the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM). One of the key points in this business process is to conduct supervision during data collection to ensure the quality of the data produced. Field data collection will take place from August 8 to September 6, 2024. On Thursday, August 8, 2024, and Monday, August 12, 2024, BPS Tegal Regency conducted phased supervision during the enumeration activities of the 2024 IMK survey. Ika Efrilia, SE., MM, was assigned by BPS Tegal Regency to oversee the data collection process to ensure the quality of the data produced by BPS Tegal Regency from the 2024 IMK survey. She, along with STIS intern students, accompanied the field enumerators to provide direct guidance on the questions in the 2024 IMK survey questionnaire to ensure that the data collected aligns with the concepts and definitions of the variables needed by the government for policy-making in the micro and small industry sector in Tegal Regency and nationally.

With direct field supervision, it is hoped that the data produced by BPS Tegal Regency will be of high quality and accurately reflect the condition of micro and small industries in Tegal Regency. Additionally, the community is expected to be proactive in contributing to each survey conducted by BPS and provide responsive answers. (MagangSTIS)
