Tegal, October 3, 2024 - As part of the BPS Go To School Literacy Development Program, Junior Expert Statistician Ika Efrilia, as Head of the Statistics Go to School Team, along with 2024 STIS graduates Laeli Amelia and Muhamad Reza Rahman, visited the Tegal Regency Library and Archives Agency.
This visit was not only a follow-up to the BPS Go To School Literacy Development program but also to enhance coordination of statistical activities between BPS Kabupaten Tegal and the Tegal Regency Library and Archives Agency. As a provider of quality statistical data for a progressive Indonesia, BPS strives for collaboration through various potential lines to maximize synergy in the region.
During the visit, Ika Efrilia discussed with the Acting Head of the Tegal Regency Library and Archives Agency, Ibu Dra. Nuzmatun Malinah, further activities for developing statistical literacy between the Library and Archives Agency and the Tegal Regency Statistics Agency that could be implemented in the future. Starting from social inclusion, the discussion explored the potential of Tegal Regency that could enhance the benefits of literacy, which could improve people's living standards. In initiating this regional potential, strategic data is needed to support community development goals. The need for regional data is partly contained in BPS's annual publications such as Kabupaten Tegal Dalam Angka and Kecamatan Dalam Angka, which cover the geographical conditions, population, social welfare, and other regional economic potentials that can be used as a picture of the district profile and the profile of Tegal Regency.
It is hoped that in the future, the synergy between BPS Kabupaten Tegal and the Library and Archives Agency will be beneficial in fostering statistical literacy skills among the community, as well as increasing the Community Literacy Development Index (IPLM) and Reading Interest Rate (TGM) to maximize the existing regional potential.
