Positive Community Response to Literacy Exhibition Activities Tegal Regency Government

Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Utami Nur Oktarini, A.Md and Muhammad Fauzan, A.Md, who are representatives of the Tegal Regency Library and Archives Service, received a visit from Ika Efrillia, SE., MM as Head of the BPS Tegal Regency Go to School Statistics Team. The visit provided an overview of the community's response to the literacy exhibition activities held by the Tegal Regency regional government from July 22 to July 31 2024 at the Tegal Regency Korpri Building. This visit is a form of maintaining synergy in carrying out statistical literacy functions in the community. This aligns with the duties of the Tegal Regency Library and Archives Service (Perpusip) as an agency whose function is to educate the public through a collection of books or reading materials including statistical literacy. BPS Tegal Regency was also invited to this activity to actively participate in statistical literacy by presenting data published by BPS Tegal Regency.

The target audience for this event included students, employees (both civil servants and non-civil servants), and the general public. BPS Tegal Regency contributed by creating a questionnaire to generate success indicators for the evaluation of future literacy exhibition events. Several response categories were collected, grouped, and visualized in the form of statistical graphs to observe the data distribution related to the literacy exhibition activities. The processed results of the responses from the literacy exhibition activities, compiled by BPS Tegal Regency, were handed over to the Library and Archives Service of Tegal Regency, so they could serve as a basis for evaluating future activities.

This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact on the development of statistical literacy, allowing the general public, especially in Tegal Regency, to understand the importance of statistics in regional development efforts in the future.(MagangSTIS)
