Household Data Update for Susenas March and Seruti Quarter 1 2025

February 4, 2025 | BPS Activities

Slawi, February 1, 2025 — The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Tegal Regency has begun the household data update phase in preparation for the National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) in March and the Quarterly Routine Survey (Seruti) in Quarter I 2025. This activity, which takes place from February 1 to 6, 2025, aims to update information on the existence and condition of families in 93 census blocks spread across all sub-districts in Tegal Regency. A total of 58 data collectors and 29 supervisors have been assigned to carry out this process, with supervision from the BPS Tegal Regency team. In-depth Updating for Information Accuracy Household updating is a crucial stage in ensuring that the basic data for Susenas and Seruti is consistent with current conditions. This process includes verifying the existence of families, collecting information on the education level of the head of household, and converting family data into household units based on shared food and drink management. The Head of BPS Tegal Regency, Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji, explained that this updating serves as a foundation to avoid errors in sampling. "Accurate data begins with the correct identification of households. This will affect the quality of policy analysis," he said. The Role of Supervisor Guidance in the Field Each data collector will be accompanied by a supervisor during the updating process. This collaboration aims to ensure consistency in methodology and accuracy in recording. One supervisor will guide two data collectors, with a work scope per data collector in 1-2 census blocks. "This guidance reduces the risk of human error and maintains operational standards," explained Bambang. Strict Supervision for Quality Assurance In addition to field supervisors, BPS Tegal Regency also deploys a supervisory team to monitor the updating process. This team will conduct spot checks in a number of census blocks randomly, verify the consistency of field data with the system, and evaluate the performance of officers. "Supervision is part of our quality control. There is no room for inaccuracy," Bambang emphasized. Targeting 93 Census Blocks in All Sub-districts The 93 census blocks targeted for updating represent the diversity of Tegal Regency, ranging from urban to rural areas. The results of the updating will be the basis for drawing samples for the March 2025 Susenas and collecting data for Quarter I Seruti. BPS Tegal Regency aims to complete the entire updating process on time by February 6, 2025. (ADN)
