Kaliwungu, Tegal - The enthusiasm for building a village with accurate and reliable data was evident in the village statistical agent training held in Kaliwungu Village, Tegal. The training, held on May 14, 2025, is part of the Desa Cantik (Love of Statistics) program, an initiative to improve statistical literacy and understanding at the village level towards a One Data Balapulang Sub-district from the Village. The opening ceremony was attended by key stakeholders. The Head of Kaliwungu Village, Akhmad Kusen, officially opened the event, emphasizing the important role of statistical agents in advancing the village. The Head of BPS Tegal Regency, represented by Senior Expert Statistician Diana Dwi Susanti, was also present to provide support and guidance. The presence of the Desa Cantik mentors further boosted the enthusiasm of the training participants, who consisted of the statistical agents of Kaliwungu Village. The Desa Cantik program itself is an initiative designed to strengthen the village's capacity to manage and utilize data. Through this training, the statistical agents are expected to become spearheads in the collection, processing, and analysis of village data. Accurate data is crucial for targeted development planning, effective decision-making, and comprehensive program evaluation. "We are very enthusiastic about participating in this training," said one village statistical agent. "We realize that data is the key to advancing our village. With the knowledge and skills we gain here, we will be better prepared to contribute to village development." Diana Dwi Susanti from BPS Tegal Regency expressed her appreciation for Kaliwungu Village's commitment to implementing the Desa Cantik program. She emphasized that BPS is ready to provide full support to villages that strive to improve the quality of statistical data. The training covered a wide range of materials, from basic statistical concepts, data collection techniques using CAPI, data processing using applications, to the presentation of data that is attractive and easy to understand. Participants were also equipped with communication and coordination skills so that they can work effectively with village officials and the community. It is hoped that this activity can serve as a model for other villages in Tegal Regency in efforts to improve data quality and build villages based on accurate information.
